From the Jaime Duque Park Foundation, we open our doors to live an experience of learning, teamwork, and strengthening conservation strategies in Latin America.     The Latin American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums (ALPZA) is the leading organization in the region dedicated to biodiversity conservation through its members’ commitment to education, research, and animal welfare.     Siempre nuestros congresos son más que una reunión, nos dan la gran oportunidad de compartir experiencias, de aprender juntos, de ponernos de acuerdo en el rumbo que nos trazamos entre todos, de compartir abrazos y de llenarnos siempre de energía, esperando la inauguración del siguiente evento.

    El próximo mayo del 2026 volveremos a tener esa gran oportunidad en la edición 32 de nuestro congreso ALPZA, podremos estar juntos de nuevo y estoy seguro que será una experiencia inolvidable.     From the Fundación Parque Jaime Duque, we hope that the congress will be a learning space in which the largest number of caregivers members of ALPZA's partner institutions can participate. For this reason, in addition to the three scholarships granted for caregivers, we will offer special rates for their registration:

    Located 10 km from the Jaime Duque Park Foundation, qualified as one of the best hotels in the region, it has restaurants, networking area, gym and rooms with high comfort.

    Located 1 km from the Jaime Duque Park Foundation, a modern hotel with space to rest and work if required.

    GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOUR VISIT TO COLOMBIA

    • Valid and current passport
    • Air ticket for entry to and exit from Colombia
    • Complete the Check-Mig Migration form Go to form
    • Have an approved visa for your trip (if you are traveling from countries not exempt from this requirement).
    • According to the regulations of Colombia’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection, all travelers entering the country must be vaccinated against yellow fever. This vaccine is mandatory for everyone over 1 year old and must be administered at least 10 days before the travel date.

    Will the registration include transportation services?

    We will provide transportation service from the airport to the main hotel (Sabana Park). On Monday, May 18, this service will be available at three different times (morning, midday, and afternoon) to accommodate your flight schedule.

    Additionally, please note that transportation for the activities included in the congress is covered as part of your registration.

    Where will the ALPZA 2026 Congress take place?

    The congress will be held at the facilities of the Jaime Duque Park Foundation, located in the municipality of Tocancipá - Cundinamarca, Colombia. Inside the Park we have an auditorium whose space and design will provide attendees a comfortable stay throughout the event.
    In addition, workshops will be held in different areas of the park.

    What is the weather like in Tocancipá, Cundinamarca?

    Temperatures range from 7 °C to 19 °C, so we recommend bringing warm clothing for the mornings and for returning to the hotels in the evening. The Park covers a large area, so we suggest wearing comfortable shoes for participating in the congress’s supplementary activities as well as in the workshops.
