Sustainability Policy
In the JAIME DUQUE PARK FOUNDATION We understand sustainability as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the capacity of future generations, ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental care and social well-being.
We have three mission objectives where we work for the conservation of nature, culture and family and social welfare, under a responsible and ethical business model that seeks to generate a positive impact on the economic development of the region. We work actively in the transformation of the territory, becoming a model scenario of sustainable recreation and tourism with purpose.
We actively promote social and environmental responsibility practices with our stakeholders through different alliances, and we develop various practices that contribute to 16 of the 17 SDGs, as part of our commitment to sustainability.
ENVIRONMENTAL
As part of our commitment to nature conservation, we are aware of the challenge of building sustainable landscapes being located in an industrial area, and that natural resources are involved in the development of our activities; for this reason, and considering the socio-environmental responsibility with the region, we are committed to:
- Plan, implement, and continuously improve an Environmental Management System that is maintained to comply with activities, processes or strategies that promote the efficient use of all resources, reducing the company's environmental impact and generating a culture of environmental safety.
- Plan, implement, and continuously improve the Zero Waste Management System (SGZW) by optimizing the use of resources and minimizing waste generation. To this end, we will adopt circular economy strategies based on the 3Rs and advanced strategies (9Rs), promoting reduction, reuse and recycling in all our processes.
- Conduct annual review and update of environmental goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and complementary activities with all allied stakeholders.
- Develop training programs and promote responsible resource consumption and good environmental practices among staff and visitors.
- Support and promote the preservation of ecosystems and native species through research, environmental education, conservation programs and the application of this policy in all of the Civil Society Nature Reserves under the Foundation's responsibility.
- To strive to carry out actions that respond to the impacts produced by climate change and allow us to adapt as an organization.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the organization, including environmental improvements.
SOCIAL, FAMILY AND CULTURAL
We are aware of the importance of the family for the development of society and of our responsibility as an organization to contribute to the social development of our area of influence, therefore, we are committed to:
- To create a setting for family recreation by generating memorable experiences that contribute to strengthening ties between family members.
- To hire our members in compliance with all the legal principles, and to ensure that they are mainly inhabitants of Tocancipá and other neighboring municipalities in order to contribute to the labor development of the region.
- Supporting local entrepreneurship for our souvenir stores to provide jobs for entrepreneurs in the region.
- Work with neighboring communities and local municipalities on projects that benefit and strengthen the family as the nucleus of society.
- Share good management practices of our members with other companies in the region with the intention of increasing the company's commitment to people and their families, specifically by socializing our experience as an efr company (family responsible company), which seeks to harmonize personal, family and work life.
- Support other non-profit organizations that serve the region's most vulnerable population, especially children and the elderly.
- Support artistic training schools in the region, providing a space for young people to showcase their musical and artistic skills.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the organization, particularly in occupational health and safety.
FINANCIALLY
As a non-profit organization, we seek to be very responsible in the use of resources, therefore we are committed to:
- Strategically plan our actions to efficiently invest the economic resources that enter the Park through the visit of tourists to our facilities with the intention that there are always surpluses to contribute to the social and nature conservation projects to which we are committed.
- To seek innovation in our processes in order to be more efficient with the environmental, economic and human resources we have.
- Seek alternative sources of financing to carry out environmental and social projects.
