Thanks to the support of the Colombian Air Force, it was possible to transfer two Andean bears from the city of Medellin, this as part of the conservation work that we advance from the Jaime Duque Park Foundation through the Spectacled Bear Sanctuary. The objective with these two individuals is to prepare the two bears for a possible reintroduction into the wild, highlighting that the species is threatened by illegal wildlife trafficking and the loss of its habitat.
We thank the institutions Parque de la Conservación - Medellín and Corantioquia, who participated in this work and continue working for the conservation of species in our country.
